Planning on investing in a pair of riding/motocross boots, (cowboy boots don't cut it). Any suggestions on brand and how is the sizing for accurate fit. Do the Thor boots fit the size of your normal shoe size. Kinda been looking at the new '08 Thor Quardant boot.
Any thoughts would help. First time boot buyer.

I've had 2 pairs of Alpinestars, and they sized the same as my shoe.

My brother in law just bought a pair of Thor Quadrants, and he got them in his normal shoe size, and said they were tight.

If you can go to a shop and try on the brand you want, that's a big help.

Then go home and order them online and save some money.

Are you saying you are interested in selling them?
How do they fit, I wear an 8 or 81/2 western boot and an 8 or 81/2 tennis shoe depending on brand.
Are they like these: http://www.riderdiscount.com/off-roa...-men/21412.php
These are the new '08 Thor in the Black/White.
If you do want to sell, how much shipped to 82729 zip code.

I have had several different brands over the years, but have settled on Alpinestars.

I wear Tech 4's with the waffle stomper sole when I do technical woods riding on the Ranchers....I could walk all day in them!

When I am on the sport quads riding fast or jumping, I want more protection so I wear Tech 6's. They are a nice combination of good protection and a nice light feel.

If I were racing, I would wear Tech 8 or 10's.

Boots are important! They will save your bacon some day.....

I have only worn Alpinestars, Tech 5 and Tech 8's. They are hard to beat for comfort and durability. My Tech 5's are ready for replacement finally and I have looked at the Thors you mentioned. These are looking to be a good bang for the buck boot and should serve you well. I agree with trying some on at a local store if possible, and make sure to wear some thick riding type socks when you do so. As for buying online, I have no problem with that but don't mind spending a few extra $$ to support that local shop if they are decent peeps. reconranger is right on, get the quad sole if you are rec riding or on a ute. I just have the mx soles and They are a huge bummer when you have to get off and push/pull stuck quads in the snow or mud.

I totally agree with the "buy local", but here in Wyoming, the dealers are small and usually don't carry much in the way of accessories, maybe a few helmets and gloves. Hard to find that kinda stuff here. But am going to try and get some-more info on sizing variables and try and find a pair to try on. Thanks

Do the Alpinestars usually fit tru to size? course I am kinda caught between sizes and seems I vary from one size to another depending on brand.
Thanks

FWIW...

I like the Thor Quadrant equipment..... So far everything I've seen from that line is well designed and seemingly a lot of equipment for the money. I just picked up a Quadrant helmet for $180 and you'd swear the thing cost $100 more.....

The Quadrant boots, too, seem very well priced for what you get. I've seen them for $130 and nothing I've seen that cheap are anywhere near as good as the Thor.

I used to use Fox everything, but over the years I've switch to almost Thor everything. Except the chest protector, I still love the Fox Air Frames.....
