Go here and sign this petition. This will help stop our road closure problems. It was started by a congressman and will go directly to pres elect Bush. www.monumentpetition.com/

I signed it, as did my wife. Us former-jarheads (the wife and I) didn't even mind following the advice from a squid (said with much affection, Lurch), especially when he's still active duty. A salute to a fellow brother-in-arms, in spite of the intra-(Navy) departmental kidding. I hope teh squid comment made you smile, because that's the way it was intended. Besides, I could never do that to my mother, or myself! (I know you thought that, didn't you?). Seriously, thank you, Lurch, and all the other current active-duty folks, serving our country valiantly so us (former sea-going-bellhops and current) civilians can enjoy the fruits of your labors (and those before you) like ATV-riding.

RubiconBob, Your comments did make me smile. I always like hearing a little ribbing from other military guys and gals, be them active or not.
Besides, we all know what MARINE stands for anyway. My Ass Rides In Navy Equiptment. You guys couldn't do anything without us helping you....
P.S. Have you ever been stationed at Camp Lajune (spelling?) or Cherry Point Marine bases in NC? I was at a school in Cherry Point for about 6 months. That was the only time I dealt with Marines other then A-school right after boot camp. Bunch of physical training fools them Marines are.

RubiconBob,
I cannot believe that a Jarhead wouldn't have more respect for a dixie cup wearing rust picker. Being a former ROTC (squidly) I must say that indeed I look at Squidly as a complement. Especially coming from a former member of a Corp of the Navy. ROTFLMAO
Many thanks to all those members of the service who have served to insure our freedoms.
