#51
My first was a 1985 Husqvarna 250WR. I purchased it used in 1989 and kept it for about 6 years. What a great bike.
My first ATV was a 2002 Honda 400EX which I purchased new.

Well about 22 years ago when i was 12 i bought a mini bike for $100 from cash earned from a paper route. It was honda i believe, and had the fat tires on it and topped out at about 25-30 maybe. I found a way to do my route in a 1/4 of the time.lol it later ended up getting stolen
my second bike was a 1986 KX80. Bad little bike my dad bought for me used for about $500 i believe. That was in 1988 when i was 14. i moved to Florida with my mom and sold the KX and got me a race ready CR80 that would do 70mph
Those were the days....

i was 13 ,
about to buy an 85 / 100 CC 2 stroke dirt bike,
Stopped at the family shop on the way to buy the bike, My uncle convinced me to borrow his 1986 quadsport 230 that had been sitting for years.
Well It was love at first gear
Rode that for about 2 years, than busted the swingarm in a rut
I was freshly 15, when I saw an ad in the paper. someone selling a 2 wheel drive off road bike!
Well I checked it out, and it was a 1984 ROKON, Im not sure of the model, but its 134 cc chrsyler 2 stroke !
Well, that thing was a little monster, it could wheelie like a sonofabitch, and get thru anything
I than worked all summer of my 15th year at the family shop for 5 $ an hour, to buy a QUAD,
this was 2000, i bought a 1996 Scrambler 400 4x4 for 2500$
Well, the guy must have beat it up before me, and what did i know..
It ran good for about 6 months, than I busted the belt and the clutch up a bit riding thru some deep snow up in the hills
took it to the dealer for the 1st and last time ever, cost 900$ but i had tons of new parts, a whole new clutch, all new chains and a fully Serviced bike
Went thru all kinds of minor stuff with her, rebuilt the steering last summer, adn upgraded it heavily, read my sig
Last fall you know the story, busted chain - > busted case (actually the rear axle hub broke, which in turn broke the chain)
I finally have all the parts i need, all the silly hardware, the new XPLORER 400 trans with LOW RANGE AND SPEEDO CABLE,
clutch pullers etc. she is going into the Lab this weekend, hope to have her back soon
I bought the 300ex out of frustration, I NEEDED to ride, had to, no way around it anyway its a great bike, EASY to work on,
and so far has been rock solid.

Very first one was back on the farm, it was some off brand called a Tri-Moto, a 3 wheeler with a 9 horse Wisonsin Robin pull start engine, no front suspension, and a centrifigal clutch to a chain drive back,it would go about 26 topped out and only had brakes on the back !! This was back when I was only about 9 or 10, which was back in the early 70's, so you can imagine what kind of high tech wheeler it was !! The first wheeler I bought for myself was an 84 Yamaha Moto4 200, paid 1200 for it used, rode it for 2 years, cleaned it up so it looked like new, and traded it in on a new 95 Wolverine ( even got 1200 in trade, not bad !!) and have been riding the ol' Wolvy ever since.

I can't be positve on the name of that old 3 wheeler, I may have bee wrong, but I know it was Tri-mo---something or other, definately not a Yamaha, my Dad bought it from a farm implement store.

my 1st machine was a 1986 Honda 200sx, my dad bought it new, and 22 years later I fixed it and rode it for about a year before it became too much work and money to keep fixing, it has a hole in the engine where the chain came off and broke through the area right underneath the smaller sprocket. Now I have a 350 Rancher.
