The newer Hyundai's engines were designed w/ Chrysler and Mitsubishi on what they call the world engine You can probobly find the same 2.0-2.4 in a Dodge Caliber or Jeep Compass/Patriot I do know for a fact In a Compass with a 2.4 they get close to 28mpg. This might help with your mpg esstimate!

Yeah it was a hard toss up, I kind of wanted the 2005 hatchback with a 5 speed, but it would get annoying shifting that little car. My truck is a 6 speed, but it is no big deal because it has the power to not have to shift all the time.
IDK, decisions decisions...

Well, that 3 cyl Geo Metro one company used to let me drive sure would be nice now. Heck, it would fit in the back of my hauler.
And I'll bet I could get the kfx in there with it.

As long as I'm getting a vehicle for me and not the wife, it will be a standard. Cuts waaay down on the "can I borrow your car" requests.

I had to get something out to the airport once in a big hurry. Speedometer went to 95, but I guy I passed said he got up to 105 to keep up.
Helped that it was all flat and no hills.
After I got there, I swore I'd never do that again in that car. Front end felt like it was just barely on the road.

Trouble there is it wouldn't cut her back at all. She pestered the hell out of me to drive my truck for the longest time. After dating for 4 years, I finally let her drive it a few weeks aago for about 2 miles.
trouble is the 2000 is selling for 4995, the 2003 and 2005 for about $2k more.
