GPS

I use the Garmin NUVI 260W in my XTERRA and am about to purchase OHV trail maps for my state.
My question is; do those of you that mount your GPS units on the handle bars have major dust issues with your GPS units?
I can find a mount ok, but I am wondering if I need to design a clear, plastic box to fit around the GPS unit..??
TIA

all you need to do for a plastic box is get a peice of light gauge plexy glass and you can mould it with a torch , by heating the edges of it and graduly bending it.
that works well for units like that as well as phones or even a cdplayer or tapedeck that you dont want ruined. I have had one on my old 3wheeler that i made with a water tite lid as well , after i made the box i just got a old rubber door seal from a scrap car , than cut the rubber to fit my hindged lid and i was water tite
speakers however was harder to seal , to be able to still hear them w/out sudden death of your speakers in mud.
i found out that a 4" speaker was best in a 8" long plastic pipe with 1 end coverd soild and other end with a heavy screen on it.
