Goggle and camelback maintainance
#1
Both my (white) goggles and camelback reservoir are getting pretty funky. Has anyone tryed putting either in the dishwasher? Sounds like a good idea on paper, but I dont know if the soap would damage the lens of the goggle or degrade the plastic liner of the reservoir.

I always take my goggles apart and clean them in the sink with dawn soap. and my camel pack I take the bladder out and run hot water through it. and then I wash the pack in the wash.

Take the bladder out and wash it by hand, inside & out, THOROUGHLY. Lots of potential for bacteria to reside in a water bladder if it isn't washed. I wash in hot water with dish soap, I take the mouthpiece off & apart and wash that thoroughly as well. Goggles, I just wash them in warm water with a tiny bit of dish soap, rub the soap into the foam then rinse and let air dry, then wipe lens with a chamois.
The bladder pack, just let it soak in warm water with a bit of dish soap, then rinse and air dry. I don't think that using a dishwasher would really be a good idea, could melt the plastic bladder or goggles if they were to slip on the side or fall on the bottom...I put my Nalgene water bottle cap in the dishwasher, got melted...

I wash my goggles by hand with dish soap too.
You can use bleach to disinfect almost anything that holds water. Wash it first, then mix a little bleach with a lot of of water BEFORE putting it in, then rinse several times with clean water.
