Is $250k a year rich?
It looks like you have made your decision Randy and that's ok, I've made mine too. I know that when CBS had an analyst breaking down how each candidate's plan would affect different people's tax burden, the person whose situation was closest to mine was better off under McCain. Also, I don't think investing in Medicaid and Medicaire is a good idea nor a good reason to justify an increase in taxes for wealthier Americans. I think most people on Medicare should go out and find employment if they want health insurance. I am not going to argue for or against a political candidate any further as I doubt that anything you say will change my mind, nor will anything I say change your mind. I don't mean that in any direspectful manner, I would just prefer to talk about other things.

The greater volume of Americans would save more under Obama I think.... According to that tax website anyway. Is it enough savings to offset possibly loosing gun rights, etc??? Not nearly.

Could be they are in no condition to work. I don't know much about medi-anything. I'm on the "don't get sick" health plan.

"Mark my words. It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking," Biden said.
"Remember I said it standing here. if you don't remember anything else I said. Watch, we're gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy. And he's gonna have to make some really tough -- I don't know what the decision's gonna be, but I promise you it will occur. As a student of history and having served with seven presidents, I guarantee you it's gonna happen," Biden continued.
If the safety of your country is of no concern, then I guess this wouldn't change anyones opinion.
Make no mistake about it, plans are being made now on the assumption Obama is elected. And when Biden says he (Obama) will be tested, it's the American people that will pay the ultimate price.

Are you saying this economic crisis is the result of market manipulation?

I'm saying the world is watching this election, and not everyone in it is our friend.</end quote></div>
Well, not to give any hints to any terrorists, but attacking while the financial markets are down makes sense. That's what happened on 9-11.

This is where to much of America doesn't see the big picture, they just want to know what can you do for me now. So what if you save a little more on taxes, what if there isn't as many jobs out there so you can pay taxes?
Here is a quote from a moderator here and I completely agree.
"I like having rich people around me, I've never worked for a poor person"
I know the owners of the smaller company I work for will be hit hard if Obama is elected and does what he says, and that in turn will have a impact on me, a middle class man. As it will the majority of Americans (Middle class), but unfortunately most are to stupid to realize it because they want to save a few bucks on their taxes.

Higher taxes on businesses will not put businesses out of business... Job losses come from decreasing demand, such as we're experiencing right now. Consider this: http://biz.yahoo.com/bizwk/081...081020022663.html?.v=1 We're losing jobs left n right, but what are the tax rates? The lowest they've been in a long time.
When I was in roofing, I worked for poor people all the time. They were my biggest customers. I don't mean broke people, but poor. The poor and middle class are the demand engines that drive small business. The more money you can put in your customer's hands, the more business you will get. What good are tax cuts for you, if your customers are broke? Even Walmart works for poor people. Masses of poor people made Walmart the biggest retailer. Ferrari, on the other hand, works for rich people. How many people does Ferrari employ?
This is what Obama had to say, "Middle class families are getting squeezed. The new jobs being created in Illinois pay an average of $15,000 less than the jobs that we've lost - and fewer offer real benefits. Health insurance premiums and the cost of a college education have skyrocketed since the beginning of the Bush Administration. In the past three years, corporate profits have increased more than 60%. Workers are being paid just 3% more.
It wouldn't be fair or accurate to blame all of this on the Bush Administration. It is fair, however, to say that they haven't done much to help. The tax cuts they've offered have barely made a dent in reducing the burden on middle class families, while driving our nation trillions of dollars deeper into debt. They continue to support tax breaks for corporations who export jobs overseas, and have refused to enforce provisions within existing trade agreements against countries who engage in unfair trade practices. "

McCain says he wants tax cuts across the board.... That's fine too. So long as more money gets into the hands of people that are customers. I think the principle difference between the two is Obama wants to make government bigger with socialized healthcare n that and McCain wants to chop it down with a hatchet. And the only way Obama can pay for "redistribution of wealth" and socialized healthcare is with higher taxes on the rich. What he isn't counting on, in my opinion, is the global economic weakness already under way that will last for at least the next couple of years. It begs the questions... Where will he get the money? What capital gains? Who has capital gains?

My mom is 85 and on Medicare. She's not looking for a job so I think she's going to stay on Medicare. I agree there are a lot of people getting it and welfare and socal security who should be working. In another 20 years I can get social security if it's still around. Maybe medicare too.

Communist countries have "redistribution of wealth" just like Obama keeps talking about. He keeps saying he's for change. Okay, but Cuba had change in 1959 and they've been suffering ever since. In we're going to have a change we should make a change for the better, not a change for the worse.
I don't like Bush but he gets a lot of blame he doesn't deserve for the economy being screwed up and jobs going overseas, when it was <u>Clinton</u> who signed NAFTA into law and let our jobs leave the country. Then with Clintons help NAFTA was expanded so it covers the world and not just North America. Thanks to him we have "free trade" with the whole world, my job is gone, and factories around here geting torn down all the time. The Republicans are being blamed now for what the Democrats did years ago. The Democrat controlled media is trying to lie to us like they always do. I don't like Republicans but the only people who are worse than them are Democrats, and they're a lot worse.
