There is going to be an ATV show on April 27-29 at the Lake County Fair Grounds in Grayslake at the corner of routes 120 and 45. There are supposed to test rides available and parts suppliers and I think a swap meet. As Illinois rider we have an obligation to support this event to let the public know we ride in Illinois!

Grayslake is about 35 miles North of Chicago and it's about 10 miles West of the Lake. It is about 15 minutes South of Great America and Gurnee Mills. Do a search on mapquest or look in any good atlas.
I got the info from a posting in the Polaris forum a while back. Here is the link...http://forums.atvconnection.com/thre...rigpost=220165
I called the 800 number today and they said they don't have a website but they have been holding snowmobile shows there for 5 years and decided to do an ATV one. I plan on seeing you all there!

Well, it's a great idea. But if they want support from Illinois riders, they need to have the show more centrally located so that more riders could attend. My vote would be for Springfield, the Capital.

rubidude,
i couldn't agree with you more. i think springfield would be a great place to hold this event. i only live an hour east of there. i would love to go to the show if it were a little closer.

I think that comparatively, there are fewer ATV's in Chicago then down state. More toward central Illinois. I live not that far from Grayslake so I'm glad it's there but to pull more people in the state to it, it needs to be centrally located. Illinois is in need promoting ATV's more and this could help.

I thnk that since the snowmobile show has been there and there is plenty of room to test ride the machines the Lake County Fair Grounds is the better choice. Besides that I don't think there is a problem convincing you down state folks that you need a new quad. Up here in the new yuppie capital of the world it might be good to let people see ATV's and know that they are safe and practical even for yuppies. If you have a good location down state I'm sure they wouldn't mind hearing about it. I'm sure Illinois is big enough to have a northern and a southern show.
