I have a question over the weekend I was riding down by my buddies house.Behind them is 400 acres.Well I had just finished loading up my quad and putting my gear away when 2 minutes later I walked into my buddies house a cops rolls up.I had my riding pants still on so my friend wa slike Ill handle this. Before I went into the bathroom to take my Fox pants off,He pulled up in front of my car stopped then rolled up to the door midway and finally pulled along back to the trailer and stopped before calling it in it looked like he did,he took off and doubled backed.Anyway my friend was like ill handle this,he knocks on door and asked if we saw a kid on a 50 who outran 2 cops,we said we saw him but we didnt see him, meaning he wasnt on premises. The cop said all I wanted to tell him was get a helmet on.Ok whatever,he then asked whos car and quad that was ,My friend said my buddies,he asked is he here he said yes I then came outta the bathroom and showed my face to not look like I was hiding anything. My question is this does any 1 think that he took my plate number down so if I ride there again Ill get ticketed?Im now afraid to go there to ride knowing this cop knows what my quad and car looks like including me.Theres really no mistaking a lime green kawie either.

bw i was riding on private property w out consent from owner, alot of people ride out there.I know were all taking risks but face it NJ sucks to begin w and after shelling out 5 gs for my quad I now gotta pay to ride, this is just hocus pocus in my book if ya ask me.I would think if He had a problem wouldnt he have asked me or my buddy were You are your buddy riding back there.?My friend told me after he left he only answer what they ask dont give them anymore power to the next question. 1 worded answers yes no officer thats it.I understand they have to catch ya in the act quad was already on trailer but Im sick of having to sneak around and look over my shoulder and have no place to ride especially at my age.I love quads and bikes but this is getting outta hand.I really want a streetbike but the way the moon yucks drive here,ya have abetter chance of winning the lottery or surviving a lightning strike then being hit by 1 of them damn cell phone abusing suv no good driving bums and soccer moms.

Hey. Try and look at it from his side. I have been on both sides of this debate.(look at my name) I know there are some jerk cops out in this world, I see many every day. If he wanted to be one, he wouldve already stepped up to the plate. It is routine to check tag numbers when you are "investigation mode" . I wouldnt be worried. If you are on private property riding your quad and have permission, what can he say. If you dont have permission, the land has to be fenced and posted every 500 feet with NO TRESSPASSING signs where I live. If it isnt posted and you dont have permission, dont get caught. If you do get caught, claim ignorance, and beg forgiveness.

DONT BE A SMART@SS AND OFFER A DOUGHNUT. We dont like that.LOL.

Have fun, and be safe.

Longarm

One other thing that might help out as well, make sure you have the bill of sale or at least a copy of it with you. I have seen police looking for stolen quads and if you have the bill of sale it will make things go faster and easier if you can just show them that.

We regestered our quads and we have atv license plates. If the police catch us riding where we shouldnt, they cant confinscate our quads because they are regestered. but i live in the boonies and the police only come by to patrol once every two weeks, but when i do go riding, im always looking out for the cops.

Riding on private property is asking for trouble and a bad reflection for the sport. If you do not wanna pay to legally ride, then get rid of the atv....did you not check this out before the purchase??
