I don't know if this girl was wearing a helmet or not, but please make sure your kids are wearing helmet's when riding. This is something that nobody should have to go through. My heart goes out to her family.


Girl riding ATV dies in accident at McGregor

McGREGOR -- An 11-year-old Maple Grove girl, who was out riding on an all-terrain-vehicle with her two young cousins, died Saturday after the girls apparently lost control, hit an embankment and rolled the four-wheeler near McGregor, according to Aitkin County Sheriff Dennis Landborg.

Justine Marie Lindgren, 11, Maple Grove, was pronounced dead as she was being transported by a North Air Care helicopter from the site, which was on 270th Place, a township road, about 5 miles west of McGregor.

Landborg said Lindgren suffered severe head injuries when the ATV rolled on top of her. The accident was reported just after 1 p.m. Saturday.

The two other girls, ages 14 and 12, were from Maple Grove and Eden Prairie. They were reportedly not injured.

The McGregor Ambulance Service and the State Patrol also responded to the accident.
