Default BMX 300cc

New to this forum but I'm a great fan of forums and have always found the help I need.
Here's my problem: My son-in-law is active with a youth soccer league, and discovered that several years ago they purchased a BMX 2X4 Utility Vehicle for use on the soccer fields. Apparently they used it for one season, then parked it. It wouldn't start for the second season so they let it sit in a storage shed for the next couple of years. Because I'm a shade tree mechanic (pretty good on hot rods and motorcycles but never tinkered with a Chinese motor) he asked me to see if I could get it running. It didn't have spark, but after jiggling some wires and messing with the carburetor, it started (I don't really know why). I put in a new battery, fixed the brakes, cleaned the gas tank, replaced the fuel lines and pronounced it fixed. It went back to the shed, but a couple of months later, when the season started, it wouldn't start again. I've replaced the plug, coil, cdi, and stator. Still no spark. It has a key ignition and no kill switches that I know of. All I know about the BMX is that it's made by Xinyang. There are no markings on the motor, but I'm pretty sure it is 300 cc because the parts I've matched up are all for a 300cc Linhai. Does anyone have any ideas?

Default Bmx/xinyang

Hello did u ever get the bmx to run. i have a 2007 bmx and at the beginning of the season after sitting in the shed all winter it wouldn't start. my problem is a bit different than yours because i have spark, fuel, compression but machine just cranks and cranks but won't start. i replaced the carb, spark plug and fuel but still won't start. compression reading is about 110 psi, fuel pump is pumping fuel to carb.
