My Kawasaki praire 300 had a high and low range and I soon learned how to utilize them when riding. If doing any work at all then go with low range as it saves wear on your cvt belt. Always use low for plowing snow or hauling heavy loads, even use it when at Hatfield/McCoy trails in the steep hills and technical trails when I knew speed would not be needed. This 450 efi seems to have more grunt than my praire had, but won't know for sure until I get into some hills. Praire 300 was a great machine, never had any issues with it in 16 yrs and hell that thing would probably climb a tree if I could hang on long enough. Hope this new ride will serve me just as well.
