Going to look at a used Husqvarna HUV for my 95 year old dad. Anybody know anything about them? Guy is asking $3,000. I know they made a Kubota 3 cylinder diesel model, but this is a gas model. Anyone ever see or use one? Where are they made? My dad needs something dependable, as he has a hard time walking.

I'd look for an older Kawasaki mule instead.

 

Haha, he bought it anyway. Probably will be fine for him. Actually, it seems rather well built. At least I didn't suggest it, he bought it on his own.

 

Probably will work just fine for what kind of riding he's going to do.

 

I drove it today, it's perfect for him. Top speed is 20 mph, haha. Motor is very quiet, CVT works perfectly. The weak point, is ground clearance. Very poor ground clearance under rear differential. Maybe he will decide to trade it in on a real UTV after he gets hung up a couple times.

 

It is 4x4 right? I know some smaller utvs are only 2wd.

 

Yes, it's 4wd. Has a nice dump body with removable tailgate. It's a nice rig for puttering around a farm, probably very easy on gas.

 

Seems similar to a lot of the smaller Gator and Mule models. Its hard to find a good utv for $3000 though, I'm sure the price was the reason he bought it. Usually utvs in this price range are really old or have mechanical issues.
