Default UTVs Are Getting More Car Like All The Time

We just got this Defender Limited, and for those that haven't seen them yet, go take a look if you get the chance. The interiors are now very nice, with heat, AC, and climate control that automatically maintains the temperature you set, and changes the fan speed as needed as well. Almost more like a Jeep than a UTV, but still rugged enough that you can clean it out with a garden hose after your ride if you need to. We have a few other UTVs, but my wife and I have been using the Defender more than the others combined.

Hey, administration, why no Can Am category in the UTV section?

As they widen the trails for the wider SxS machines, you gonna see more Jeeps and trucks clogging these trails. With all those bells and whistles just more stuff to go wrong and have to fix. Same with over 100 hp engines, liability is gonna get expensive. Remember who was voted into office, shortly they will be putting govt controls on everything, limiting speeds, keeping folks away so the tree huggers have a place to stand and watch trees and weeds grow. New technology can grow to quick for our own good!!!

I guess if you want all that stuff its fine but for me its just added cost for things I don't need. A windshield and maybe heated steering wheel for cold weather rides and that's about all I would need. If I wanted a truck to drive down the trail Id simply spend a lot less money and buy an old beater 4x4 truck like an S10 or Ford Ranger. Power steering is nice too, though on many its not really needed. Some benefit greatly though.

AdrenalineRush, have you run into any weight limitations on any of the trails systems? I've read about some states that limit off-road machines to 1000 lbs. I imagine this rig would go over that limit. Just curious. I like being out in the open but would sure love a rig like that for chores and if I had 100 acres somewhere.
