LT230S performance
#1
What can i do to my 1985 LT230S to make it faster, besides a pipe and an aftermarket airfilter? If i put new performance parts in my engine will it have to be rebuilt so the new parts don't wear out?

Your next steps are to move more air and squeeze it harder. In other words, going inside your engine. Higher compression piston will pick you up some HP, and stay reliable if you stay at like 10.5-1. That is if you can find a piston for that wheeler. Next while you have it apart would be a slightly more aggresive cam, again if you can find one. That unit probably has fairly small valves and ports so much more cam would necessitate valves and porting to work then you're tied up for some bigger bucks. Tough call---by the time you spend very much for motor internals, you can go to a 4-valve EX300 and be way ahead. Good luck,
