This has nothing to do with Performance or mods, but I think You all will forgive me. I want to build a website pertaining to allot of the things on here. Namely fast bikes! I need some suggestions as to how to do it. I do not know which server would be the best or even what kind of software I will need , if any. PLease tell me everything I need to know! Thanks for your help.

Well, it really depends on what you are going to try to accomplish.... If you want just a simple static site that isn't going to be overly large, most ISP's provide free webspace that'll do the trick nicely.

If you are planning any kind of DB access, forums, discussion boards, having your own domain name, there are several options available. I can code in ASP, that pretty much requires an NT server. But that is unnecessary unless you are wanting a dynamic site. Feel free to email me if you would like more info...

I should have been a little more specific. I dont want to create an actual "site", just a page. Soemthing like what you guys have on here. Just something to put some pics on a few words. No interaction such as forums or chat rooms. Simple and easy! Thanks for helping.

Sounds like you will be fine with the free space most ISP's offer, mine offers 6mb... If yours doesn't, geocities, tripod, angelfire, and a host of others offer free space and just place banner ads on your page.

There is lots of software out there for creating HTML pages quickly and easily. I have used Adobe Pagemill, Macromedia Dreamweaver, and a couple others. Either of those will work great. I have provided a link that you can download a trial copy of Dreamweaver from. Some folks use Microsoft Frontpage as well. I don't like the "feel" of it myself and never spent any time trying to learn it.

My personal pages are by no means very good at all (I really need to go thru them and make myself a descent site), I just kinda threw them together in a couple of minutes with Pagemill. Just don't have much time or motivation for my own page.

Feel free to email me if you would like any help getting started or need any more info. HTML can be a little funky to get used to at first. I am by no means a highly skilled HTML designer, but I have designed a few cool sites.....

Brandon:
Its looking good so far! I started out about 2 yrs ago the same way you are now. I had good luck at the time with using Netscape's Composer and Microsoft's Front page. If you would like a copy of front page let me know and I will make you a copy and send it to ya. I created my web site and the site for K&K atv with Front page. Keep up the good work and let any of us know and we will help you as much as we can

Guys, do you know its illegal to copy software.
Many people do it but thats not the case, if caught its carries very strict punishments (money and jail time). But if you do decide to do this, don't talk about this in the Forum, email each others privatly. Any yes for a simple page Front Page will do you good.
