Vision is talking about header wrap (used in the automotive field). I am completely unaware of the fact of changing the HP/Torque curve by applying wrap. But I can tell you it is a huge help to the engine, by redirecting heat (which steals HP) away from the motor faster. Plus it's easier on the legs.

A 50' roll of exhaust wrap is only $35 so try it. As I mentioned in previous posts, just wrap the pipe (coming from the engine) NOT the entire exhaust (including muffler). You'll use hose clamps to keep it from coming apart. It's REAL simple. Just remember to use gloves, the wrap contains fiberglass, unless of course you like feeling itchy all day? LOL

Hope this helps.

Try experimenting with wrapping the baffle cone. The baffle cone is the cone nearest the end of the expansion chamber.

Pipe components in order from cylinder:

--Head Pipe
--Diffuser cones (most often only 1, but good custom pipes have 3)
--Parallel wall section(belly)
--Baffle cone
--Stinger

Look for the parallel wall section(PWS) which will be near the center of the length of the expansion chamber. The PWS ends and the baffle cone begins, the baffle cone will taper to the diameter of the stinger. Try wrapping the entire section of the baffle cone.

Also try wrapping the head pipe to the beginning of the diffuser cones in addition to the above. It's alot of experimentation each motor and pipe will be different so it makes it extrememly difficult to say how much it may change your pipe's charateristics.

As always CHECK your jetting with each change...
