300ex owners who want more power over stock!!

I own a 99' 300 ex and over the past 2 years I have tried to get more from my motor, this is what I've found. I first bought an exhaust, a DG aluminum silencer with new head pipe. I ran this for a while, power gain was great on the bottom but no where else, I was losing races to 250x,s and 230's badly. I rejetted my card, vented my air lid and bought a k&n filter, this all helped but the top end sucked. After a year with this exhaust it started to break consitently at the mounts, so I decided to buy another. I choose the supertrappIDS2. When I got the pipe I knew right away as soon as I seen the head pipe that this was a much better pipe than DG;s. The head pipe was approx. 8 in. shorter than the other meaning better air flow. I didn't change anything else , I even kept the same jetting to start. This pipe performs so well in the mid to high revs that I can't hardly beleive the diffference. I used all the discs they gave me but I was not hapy with the low end now. Took out all the discs now and this machine screams all the way through the power band. My point is , don't waste your money on DG there are many faults to this pipe . Maybe that is why they sell it so cheap. Also the noise diff. is dramatically diff. the IDS2 is not much louder than stock.

i did the same thing to my 96 but i put higher comrpesion pisron and ported it. The dg pipe mounts broke after 3 months and they wouldnt replace it. It ended up crimping when it turns. 250x, 300ex, blasters, and mojaves were passin me.
I sold it and bought a banshee
