X-33 Axle
#1
I got a DuraBlue X-33 axle for my 400EX. It feels heavier than 11 pounds. So, I put it on the postal scale here at work. With the hubs, it weighs 15.5 pounds.
I just wanted people to know because I told everybody here at work it only wieghed 11 pounds (as the ATVing article states). Then found out it really weighs over 15. Oh so embarrassing....
Can't wait to put it on there at lunch time!

I think the weight of this axle depends on the model of quad it is for. I got one for my banshee and I weighed it with the hubs and it came in at around 13-14 pounds. I bet the 250R axle is 11 pounds or something with a shorter axle. Advertisers are tricky like that, one weighs that much so they say that all of them weigh that much. Hey Philzie, I was wondering what size allen wrench you used to tighten the pinch bolts. I dont have one that fits and need to go buy the right size. Thanks

I went and installed it. It only took about 50 minutes, . The allen wrench I used was 3/8 inch. It fit perfectly. The wheel studs were slightly difficult because my socket wrench wouldn't fit between the bolt head and the gusset on the hub. I got it though.
The extra "narrow" setting hole sure looks like a weak spot to me. Anybody ever bend or break one of these things? (not that I am hard on stuff...)
