Should I upgrade to a twist throttle?
#1
my style of riding is mainly agressive trail riding and cross country type racing with a little time spent on the MX track. Would the twist throttle be an advantage?

i dont think you should go with the twist throttle. I think you have more control and can move around more on trails without worrying bout hitting throttle by accident. just my opinion

i always make my friends on dirtbikes mad cause when i'm riding them, i'm not used to the twist throttle so i always just kinda hit somethen here and there, nothin much, haha. i think that u have more control with a thumb throttle so if u have a powerful quad and u land with your wrist twisting, then ur gonna get messed up pretty bad.

i must agree with warrior 350. dirtbikes have been around longer than quads and they have always had twist throttles. i figure there's a good reason why quads have thumb throttles. it seems to me that it would be harder to lean a lot while turning and not hit the throttle on accident.

well i tried a twistie this week on my zilla and upto now im not impressed not sure what it is but i just dont have the same presise controll that a thumb gives,
its also verry awkward steering as you do on a quad cos you do actualy turn the bars a lot more than on a bike wich would normaly be leaned over,

I might pick a twister for wide open country, where you ride it wide open much of the time (like in desert endurance racing). But for trail riding, where a lot of throtle work is involved, I would stick with the thumb style.
