I suggest you find a lighter motor. Some of the new 600-750 street bike motors make about the same power as the Hurricane's motor. They are much lighter as well. Good luck with the build.

Thats my whole motivation, saving money. I dont want to dump all sorts of money into this project, it will be expensive enough as it is, but if you hear of a better deal, let me know as I have not yet bought the motor. Thanks for the replys guys, I am going to need some help on this!

I am building a 1986 Honda 250r with a ninja 500 engine. I am building it only as a banshee killer. I finished making the engine fit, but after you reinforce the frame you should have it criogenicaly treated to releive all of the stress. They sand blast it, then freeze it to -2400 degrees and over two weeks let it heat up. it lets all of the molecules fit themselves together slowly instead of slamming together like what would happen if after the welding was done and it just sits there cooling. Pretty technecol, huh? Strange but true. I'm having it done.

How is it possible for them to freeze your frame to -2400 below? Absolute zero, which is the absolute coldest it could possibly be is -273.15 degrees Celsius, or -459.67 degrees Fahrenheit. The definition of absolute zero is the temperature at which thermal energy vanishes. (Encyclopedia Britannica)
But maybe Im wrong here, please let me know.

Yea, they use this process for other things like musical instruments and such. Horns (trumpets, bugles, etc.) sound better, disposable razors last 25 times longer.

Really cool stuff. I would like to find something like this in my neck of the woods.
