Huge Engine Mod

Would it be possible to fit a R1 Motorcyle engine onto a quad frame?
Some things you could help me with:
What quad(sport quad) could fit this engine the best?
What would I look into doing if this is possible?
(This is going to be my next project if its possible, heard it was at least but im asking the community)
Btw Hi Guys, im new around here
Thanks,
Dan Gunn

I think it is possible...I think somewhere on here has done it...I think they used a lt500 frame since its pretty big...I'm sure a lot of cutting and welding would probably be involved, but I think it can be done...

Its absolutely possible with a cutter, welder, and some imagination. I remember seeing someones bio/gallery page where they has a crotch rocket engine in a banshee frame. Cant remember his name???

It is possible. I put a 75 model gt 750 engine(3 cylinder 2 stroke) into a 90 model suzuki quadsport250 frame(not the zuki 250r frame). My transplant looks factory. Just remeber it takes alot of work and fabrication. Also plan, plan, plan. Do a mock up before you cut or weld anything. It will really help if you have ALL the components required to complete the conversion before you make the first cut. The next project I build will be a late model bike engine, possibly fi, and at least 1000cc stock. My frame decision was pretty easy. I got the cheapest deal I could on a rolling quad on ebay. I picked up the complete bike minus plastic for $250, then sold the engine for $200. Well good luck. By the way I do have pics of my quad if anybody is interested, and It is always for sale. Right now it just needs a complete teardown and frame paintjob. I do have some engine mods that i am working on, but if the right buyer comes along before then its sold, lol. I think I had more fun building it than I do riding and racing it. It was a very mentally challenging project to say the least.
Sorry for the rambling, but my main point is that it is possible and just take time, patience, and alot of thought.

I will post the latest pics tomorrow. i am out of town right now. As far as how much you will spend, that depends soley on you. It took me about 6 months to aquire all of the parts to actually build the bike. I waited and caught cheaps auctions and such to keep the price down. Sometimes I would buy something 500 or 600 miles away and just pick it up on my next work trip that direction. Ebay is a good source of parts. I think I have about $1500 in mine right now. This includes the frame, rebuilding the engine(to stock specs, no mods), pipes, z400 plastic, tank, and seat, and other various bits and pieces. To really finish it cosmetically, I still need to purchase paddles, rims, and paint. I am also wheeling and dealing on some engine mods. Luckily for me I have done all of the work to date, about the only thing I will have to pay someone for is porting the cylinders. But I guess this is like any other bike, it is never TRUELY FINISHED.
