Boost bottle ?'s

What does a boost bottle accomplish and how. I understand it is used to replace the croosover tube between the carbs, but it seems the tubes feeding the bottle are not oversized so what is the benefit? Or is it another way to spend 40 bucks?

i have a banshee w/ the stock thing and my friend has a boost bottle. It is like a bottle on top of the 2 tubes going into the manifolds. I heard it is posed to boost low-end?? who knows, but i think its bull, and if it isnt bull it makes such a slight difference not worth the money. But i may be wrong??

There has got to be someone out there who can say exactly what performance improvements can be expected from a boost bottle. So far I'm getting the idea that it's almost useless. Does anyone have one on their ATV and what, if any, improvements have you seen?

I thought that scenario sounded familiar, jerk! The boost bottle was a wise investment, and I stand behind it whole-heartedly.
...but to add to the discussion, mine rubs on the carb caps and the fuel line. I've almost wore a hole in it. Big bottle-little space.

The purpose of the boost bottle is to equalize the pressure between the two carbs thus putting them in better "sync". This is suposed to make throttle response snappier and bottom end more pronounced. From what I have seen and this includes dyno runs, they make absolutely NO difference. I have run a stock crossover for a while, and just recently went to a manifold that doesnt have the crossover intakes made into them and I have noticed no real difference. To block them off get a rubber cap and clamp it over the hole.
