I was wondering what i would have to do to get a cr500 engine into my 85 atc 250r, and how good would this work, and would it be reliable.

 

i think i have heard of that being done before. If i remember right it works out pretty well, but dont quote me on that.

 

I have seen a couple and they were pretty clean

Yep, all I have is a similar story. Saw a guy running a cr500 in a atc250r with a very long swing arm and some paddles. it was the fastest bike at the hill that day with the exception of a very well built kawi kx500 dirt bike. the R easily beat most quads and bikes, only occasionally having close (2-3 lengths) races with other 500cc motorcycles.
