AC Racing- Pry bar and Hammer Required ?????
#1
Guys, just venting here a bit. I really like the looks of some of the AC racing stuff, but you shouldn't have to use a hammer and a pry bar to make their parts fit. I installed the bumper for the 450R a few weeks ago and the bumper was angled back a little more on one side, so I had to use a hammer and smack it to match the other side. I got my standard nerfs last night, and it was a similar situation. The angle of the footpeg connection was way off and once again the hammer had to be used to straighten.
After using the hammer and a large screwdriver to drop the nerfs into place, they fit really good. I know it sounds like I just like using the hammer on the quad, but I think AC racing should invest more money into quality control and less for advertising. We're not exactly talking about tight tolerances for the nerf bars or bumper either.
The end product of the installation was a success, maybe others can share their experience or just be pre-warned. The hammer is required, the pry bar is somewhat optional and can be substitued with a large screwdriver. Yeah I had a similar problem with on my Predator, I bought a HPD front bumper and it fit great, and then I bought a PMR back bumper and I had to mod the hell out of it to make it even come close to fitting. I wasn't very happy either, that stuff is too expensive to not fit correctly.
