Any ATV frame you use would have to be chopped up alot. A friend has a Yamaha 650 twin in a 300ex frame, another has a Kawi 500ex in a LT250 frame. those engines are both alot taller than a atv one, and both had to cut the frame almost in half to get it to fit. The one with the kawi 500 twin- he cut the bottom of the frame out, so it sets low, but still fits the original gastank and seat. It has weight transfer problems because of the low slung weight. The other, the 650 twin, he cut the top out. It retains the quads ground clerance, but the stock gastank can't be used. He solved this by making a tank to fit under the seat and running an electric pump. An R1 engine is TALL and wide. The only measurement I remember off the top of my head is like 19" from the front header to the sprocket. I think its like 22" wide. not sure of the height.
