I dont know really too much bout alky tuning besdes it makes power, some 1 i use to work w ran alky carts he said alky actually run just as hot but its the density of it or soemthing,he said after each race he had to run over an put the butt plug in the mufffler or air would rush in an hit the valves an warp em in the hot briggs an stratton air cooled engine.Reason no 1 runs it in a ski maybe is w the ocean/lakewater an alky the motor would run too cold.ftz could help u out w that,I was at there site awhile ago to see if they still built mojave motors but Im sol on that.I dont see why ya couldnt run it in a ski,i mean theory is theory ya cant change that.but everything is bigger, carbs jets, head squish compression porting etc.I had a chance to buy a 91 sx550 stand up from a man who owned the buildng on my last job.I talked to the kawasaki dealership he said ya could be getting in over ya head w a ski that old.If I ever get a ski will move outta this state tho an get a stand up 1.If ya do go for it go get a egt temperature guage will take alot of guess work an help make tuning soo much easier for ya,might be cheaper in long run then running a motor a few degrees over the edge an melting it,then the costs will be $$$$$$$,ya might find hp w it by running t as close to stoichimoetric ratio of 12:7:1 or something around that point or whatever the the ratio s for 2 strokes.Hope this helps as I am not even close to being an expert.

Thank you everyone for the great response I've been getting here! bansheesmoker especially, you've been very helpful. I appreciate your willingness to share your knowledge and experience with me.
Right now I'm still running into problems getting someone to want to try this in the jetski market. All I need are answers from these people, but you'd think I wanted their first born or something!
Sugarhead, dude, go choke your kawaskai dealer! No jetski is "too old"! Those old skis are so simple to work on and inexpensive to repair or replace parts, it's rediculous. The only way you'd be "over your head" is the liklihood of it needing more major engine work than just rings - which can happen on skis that aren't cared for. I imagine it is no different than buying a Banshee or TRX250 of that age? You have to expect *some* kind of wear and tear.

I dont need to choke em,but half the good people left an they hired unprofessional snotty *** kids to run the place.I wont choke em altho Id love to,Ill do the next best thing go vote w y wallet somewhere else.I had some blow up my banshee and I almost had to sell the 1st born for it.jk It was obscenely expensive to not only have it redone but I took it to the next step of modding it when was done I could bought abrand new shee for that.Dave at east coast said if it hadnt been so botched it woulda been a hell of alot cheaper to fx an mod.
