Easy pull lever
#1
Hey everone I just pick up a banshee for my wife say good bye to the four stroke Here is my question She has a hard time pulling the clutch.I picked up a easy pull lever but it seems there not enough cable adjustment to disengage it. Could it be time for a new cable or do I need to look at something else?
Thanks Spencer

if she has trouble just pulling the clutch on the banshee, i would say you have bigger things to worry about...
but anyway, you could try lubing the cable if the machine is a couple of years old and probably has grit or sludge in the cable housing. i did it on mine and it reduces pull effort a little.

After a nasty crash, I had to replace the clutch lever on my Banshee. I got the MSR easy pull lever. The lever itself had 3 different places to attach the cable for different levels of pull.
When I placed the cable in the easiest spot, I found that it just fit. I have almost no free play on the lever itself. I asked the same question here some time last year.
I was told that there was 3 places to adjust the cable.
First is on the lever itself.
Next is on the motor, right before the lever on the case.
Last is in the clutch assembly itself.
I was able to adjust the first two all the way out, not wanting to take apart the clutch. This allowed me just enough room where the cable was not pulling on the clutch. Only problem I found by doing this, is that in order to take the cable off the lever, I first need to disconnect it from the lever on the motor.

I have the MSR Raptor on my YZ490. It also has a swivel where the cable connects to prevent the cable from having to bend. I found the the center position which pulls the cable the same as the stock lever was still much easier to pull. I have a shorty version and have no problem pulling it with two fingers. I bought mine through www.mxsouth.com

Oh yeah, I changed the cable at the same time. I changed because the old one was kinked, not because I thought it would help with making it pull easier. The Motion Pro was cheaper than a stock cable. I don't remember if it was a terminator though. It is a thicker cable than the old one.
