i am fixing up my old 250x (1987) for my wife and i but i only have about $500.00 to spend on the engine i have a fmf header and silencer and a k&n filter all ready i would like to put a cam and high compresion piston in it but im not sure if i should or need to go with a big bore kit or not and im trying to get a valve job done too but it might have to wait a little while what do you guys think

273 Big Bore kit. Adds 35% more horsepower and a stock has 15 hp at the rear wheel. My 250X I bought from a friend has this and it will keep right up with 400ex's and blow 300ex's off the road. No Joke, he got it all done for about $400. That would leave $100 to get a bigger carb from ebay. Take care, and Ride Hard
