I thought this thread was going well for a while. I didnt think I was going to have to say anything...

Loud pipes are annoying. They are a pain for landowners, neighbors, park officials, campers, fishermen, other riders, and you. Believe it or not, you will get sick of that obnoxious noise coming from your atv.

Loud pipes dont save lives on harleys because motorists hear the harley and want to hit him because the loud pipe is a disturbance to the peace of a busy highway or city street.

Loud pipes do not save lives on the trail either. You cant hear anyone coming because your pipe is so loud. Didnt think of that now did you???

Loud pipes are for little kids. Pipes should be added for performance and sound QUALITY, not quantity. And since you are looking at minimal gains for hp on a 300ex, sound quality improvement is your only reasonable reason. Get a slip on pipe and dont spend too much money. Stay away from cobra, and usually dg as well.

What about the wildlife that live there, its their home, do you think they want your loud exhaust?

What about a spark arrestor, that would be nice if some hot summer day, you burned you uncles woods down, just something to think about.

 

most aftermarket pipes have spark arrestors in them.. DUHH

 

Check and see if lteracing.com makes a dual system for your machine becuase I put the duals on my predator and it is abnoxiously loud and still has plenty of performance increase..... I little costly but well worth it...

 

I have a 350x motor in a 300ex frame running a t-4 pipe on it. . I like the pipe a lot but i mainly like it cuz it's not very loud. . it has a lower sound. . not a higher loud pitch to it like some pipes. . i had a brand new cobra pipe on it before. . it was really loud but kinda sounded like a tin can. . thats why i have the t-4 now. .i wanted more quiet. . plus i think the t-4 is just a heck of a lot better pipe. . looks. . performance. .everything. . . hope that might have helped

 

I have an fmf powercore 4 on my raptor very loud. it has a really nice sound to it to. i live right on the edge of city limits. (still get the cops called every time i rifde it).
