Default 1200 bucks to spend on a 400ex

My friend has a 400ex and wants me to help him to make some more power out of it. It has a full white brothers pipe on it and a k and N. I was looking on going to a big bore 11 to 1 kit and a cam stage 2 i think. I was looking at carbs, but I am not sure on what i should get for the bike. I have heard a lot of good things about lectron and i was thinking about using one of those on it, but I am not to sure yet. If anyone could help I could really use it. Any shops doing head work porting, bigger valves and such that know what they are doing would also help. Let me know what you think about on cams brands and companys out there that are doing good work.

karzy5150-My wife has a 440 kit with 11.1 compression along with a fmf pipe and header, midrange cam,big gun cdi, procom rectifier,k&n air filter and her 440 is very fast as compared to a stock 400 ex.As a gauge of how fast her 440 is she can run right with the new 450r with the cam and pipe mods in a 300 foot uphill sand drag so that is pretty good performance for a air cooled motor that is actually old technology when compared to the 450 r motor. We run the stock carb with a 172 main in the summer and a 178 in the winter and the stock carb can perform very close to the same as a fcr if tuned properly.

give curtis sparks from sparks racing a call. he's here in cali, bakersfersfield. he's a top dog in 4-strokes as well as 2-strokes, he does all the port, head, and even carb work in house, as well as all bore kits and A-arms and swing arms. go to www.sparksracing.com and check out the site. sparks built a 465EX that runs on alky that will run with the best drag bikes out there. another cool thing that i've found with curtis that i haven't found other places doing is some carb work. if u do some mods, but don't have the money for a new carb, or simply don't want one, he can do some work on urs, kinda like port work and boring it out a lil and he told me it will add noticable power.
