Fox shocks are good. I think the thing that gives most shocks their reputation for a particular app are how many they have valved for people. For example, Works Performance has done so many FL350 shocks that mine seemed perfect to me right out of the box. If people keep sending them back because they are too stiff or too whatever, They will change the way they set them up initially. A friend has the Fox Air shocks. Instead of sending them back when they were not right (it was that employees last day at Fox, setup was very bad) he had them send him the shims for changing the compression and rebound valving. The spring rate is changed by the nitrogen pressure. I really like the idea of this because you can try other settings even if you like the current setup. Maybe they can be even better.

If you want shocks to work out of the box, find out what people with the same machine and similar riding style like. Don't lie about your weight and don't claim you do jumps twice as high as you really do. If they still are not right, send them back until they are.
