He has a K&N filter with the lid off, and he's looking for a full pipe. I have ESR intake Sparks header & pipe and cam mod with proper jetting

 

has he rejetted after making the air flow modifications?

 

no what he did was he cut a square out of the top of his lid about 4x4 and he screwed a lawn mower air filter on the top, the air filter is flat 4x4. I dont know how much it helps but thats what he's got.

 

it has potentail, but if he hasnt rejetted, it is helping nothing. There is a better air flow, but with the old jets, it is not using the air flow that is possable. He needs to rejet to get gains from that. That is a cool idea, though, i might try that. Looking at the mods you have, he will need to do quite a bit to hang w/ your YFZ. He should start with a pipe (he will need to rejet) and keep going from there.

 

Yeh i figured he was going to have to do a lot. I've been giving him a hard time. telling him he better take a pic with him so he can get the sand out of his teeth.
