When is a good time to get a new chain, and sprockets???
Because mine are making a crunching noise.
And the chain is stretched alot(I have had to take 2 links out)
The back sprocket has some teeth that have little chunks out of it. The front sprockets teeth are all curved forward.

BUT THIS SEEMS ALL WIERD TO ME BECAUSE I JUST GOT NEW CHAIN AND SPROCKETS IN FEBRUARY....DID I GET CHEAP PARTS??? BECAUSE ISN'T THIS A LITTLE EARLY TO GET NEW PARTS??

If you ever have to take links out of a chain, it is time to get a new one. Also if the teeth are starting to point in the direction that you are going, it is time. If any teeth are missing, it is time.
What kind of chain did you buy? For a quad only buy a O-Ring chain. You must have gotten a non or regular chain, they will work on a bike. But, a quad is way harder on chains and some people seem to run though every mud hole that is in front them. O-Ring chains should last at least a year under extreme conditions and trail riding 2 to 3 years or more.
Don't ever ride a quad or bike with missing teeth, it is just like running a car with bald tires. Some people do. So what can we say?

Surely you jest. The correct time was a long time ago on all three counts..chain,rear sprocket, & c/s sprocket. Any one of the symptoms calls for a replacement of the worn out part. Your sprockets are hooked, (1), teeth missing)2) chain stretched WAY beyond safe use and the cause of the trashed sprockets(3). You need to become accustomed to the phrase, "preventative maintenance".
Failure to replace all the above parts at the same time will result in the very quick wearing out of those new parts that you did replace.
Altho I stiil have trouble believing you are serious & have let your ride become so neglected, I have decided to respond anyway for the benefit of any others who may tend to ignore simple maintenance procedures.

Thank-You for the replys,
Now I know I definatley need a new chain and sprockets. But I don't understand why I need them so soon after I just got them new 5 months ago. The honda dealer repair shop put them on and they only put on a regular chain....I didn't know I needed an O-ring chain, thanks for that tip. My dad thinks their both fine...LOL
I knew something wasn't right when I looked at them, they looked a little worn.
So I need to spend my money more now for this darn machine....THAT'S WHY I WANT A NEW ONE!!!
What do you think....around $300 for a good set of a chain and sprockets?(In Canadian dollars)...no aftermarket crap for me anymore...their cheap parts.

Go any magazine and find a ad that has a complete set for under $100. People will tell you one brand is better. Just like which gas, cars or riding cloths is better. Just buy any o-ring chain.

No I don't want to buy them from a mag. because I'll have to pay for shipping and handleing and the magazines are mostly in the states so their would be a charge for sending across the border and everything else.

I'll just get a good set from the dealer for like $250

Can you get kits from dealers and order them???
or do you have to go to a parts store to get them?

ATV_MAN, Have you checked with Dennis Kirk? he offers free shipping on sales over $100, and that may be enough savings to cover the extra cost for shipping to Canada plus no sales tax.
RK, Sun Star, DID, Renthal are good brands for chains or sprockets.

I finally replaced the sprockets and chain on my Mojave when it got to the point where I couldn't adjust all the slack out of it.

When I finally took it apart, every other tooth was broken on my front sprocket and all the teeth on the rear were paper thin!

No sales tax??? WHHOOO!!!!
I'll look at their site(IF THEY HAVE ONE)
Finally no tax...everything you buy up here has 15% tax.
I think I'd like a 13 tooth front sprocket....do you think that will fit my atv?? will it give me more speed??
