Question about streetbike powered quads
Just wondering, I've noticed many people here have swapped in various streetbike engines into their quads- What kind of acceleration would be expected from , say a gixxer 750 or even a 1000? I have ridden both bikes rather frequently, but I just cant imagine gsxr1000 power in a quad. Assume that same 1000cc engine was in a machine that weighed approx. 150lbs more than the bike, with the extra ground contact from 4 tires what kinda performance could I expect? (I say 150lbs extra cause im thinking about a minirail here) any ideas?

Question about streetbike powered quads
I've got an old 1987 Honda 250X with a Yamaha Radian 600cc. These were rated at about 65hp. Mine may make about 70 since having Pods and a header with stubby muffler. This quad is light and it does run well. As fast as most of the popular 60-70hp Banshees.
This engine is an Air/Oil cooled setup w/6 speed and fits quite nicely in the frame with very little modifications.
Now it just needs real suspension and I can ride it anywhere.

Question about streetbike powered quads
Well I put a little bike motar in a 3 wheeler. A CB200. The motor is rated at 21hp at 9000RPM. I put it in a 200X with a +6 swingarm. It wasnt anywhere near as impressive as I thought it would be. The gears are way to far apart and all the horsepower is on the top. My old man and I put a CB750 in a snowmobile. Its pretty fast and has a ton of power. So much power that you can blow through all the gears before moving.
