After many weeks of tuning with lackluster results, we finally made the phone call. We called up Eric Oldham and Randall Richards to get our machines on their dyno. My Banshee had never been on the dyno before and I really didn't know what to expect. I thought that I would sit back and watch my friends go first but they made me be the guinea pig.
So, they strapped my Banshee to the dyno and the 1st run was pitiful. The only good thing about this run is that it verified my thoughts of being way short on power. We then changed the jetting and tried the 4 curves that were programmed on my Dyna. We tried a few other ideas and a different set of pipes and by the end of the day my Banshee had picked up 27 horsepower. That is by far the most power for the money that I will ever get! And all this was accomplished in a little over 3 hours. It would have taken me weeks, if not months, to figure this out by field testing. And the couple hp that the different curve on the Dyna made would have likely never been found by my seat of the pants testing.
Since our dyno session, we discussed how pleased we were with how the day went. Eric and Randall spent around 8 hours working with us. We were never rushed. We were still cranking those engines past 10 PM. They helped us greatly with their troubleshooting abilities. They would compare the runs and make suggestions which made it a lot simpler for us.
Anyways, I would just like to thank the both of them for all the help and wanted to let everyone else know what a 1st class experience it was.
Thanks,
Daren
