A slip-on is just the muffler itself.Generally themuffler is the biggest restriction of the whole exhaust system which,is why you gain so much from changing the muffler and very little by changing the head pipe.If you are going to buy an exhaust system then you need to decide if you just want the muffler or muffler and head pipe. The reason being is that the slip-on muffler is made to connect with the stock head pipe. Most full systems have a larger diameter head pipe than stock so you wouldn'tbe able to use the slip-on with anything other than the stock head pipe...........Hope this helps...........
