OK People, I want better low end performance... I am not looking to go faster in my top end, I am looking for hill climbing grunt. I also do not want a LOUD exhaust... I am game for re gearing,I like the clearance I have so I do not want to lower my bike with smaller tires. pipe and carb work is ok, or even going into the top end of the bike. I do not want to go into the bottom end of the bike and I am looking for reliable mods...my bike is a bone stock 2000 Honda 300ex. please give all opinions people... don't just let one guy do the talking. I also am not Ritchie rich so $2500 dollars of mods is never going to happen... I would like to spend $300.00 to $1000.00 tops

You could get an FMF Megamax and run 10 discs. This pipe isn't very loud. Then get a WEBCAM bolt in cam(you won't need stiffer valve springs). Then, a higher compression piston(this will give you the biggest bottom end gain).

FMF Megamax...about $240
Webcam....$90 + $120 for hardwelded rocker arms
Wiseco piston...$90? or for Arias about $130

With these mods, you would gain quite a bit of midrange, and a little bottom end as well.
