Default Race Gas Questions

I have a CT310 kit on the new motor I got for my 250r and dont really know which gas to run in it. Ct says that it needs to run on 100 octane fuel. They say its alright to take 110 and mix it 50/50 with 93 pump gas to dilude it. The only high octane gas i can get locally is Sunoco 110 Unleaded OR Sunoco 100 Leaded. I looked into Vp racing fuels and found some at a local yamaha dealer-$69.99 for a 5 gallon drum!-that works out to about $14 a gallon. That made the decision to go with the sunoco 110+93 much easier. Any advice would be greatly appreciated and any info on the pros and cons of running unleaded or leaded is also welcomed.

I run mixed gas like that in my car. The only thing I can get around here is 110. I mix it with 91 Octane. Much cheaper than the 14 bucks a gallon you were talking about. The 110 octane is around 4.00 a gallon. Don't know much about leaded gas in a two-stroke. I'm not sure how that works. I know with 4-strokes (car engines in my case) it has to do with the valves. My car has to have lead, but I don't know what that would do in a two-stroke. I'd be curious to know.

You will be fine with your mix. Go with the leaded fuel if you can, it's much easier to see the tune on the plugs and has more lube for the parts.
