Hey guys,

If you were going to put a 500cc sled motor into a quad frame what would be a good pre-existing frame to mount it in and why? In this case it would be coming off a '96 Ski-Doo Formula SLS.

It would mainly be a learning experience but as far as intended use ... trails.

I'd say pick a frame from a quad with great handling characteristics and one very important feature on it should be a fairly long swingarm!!!

 

id say a raptor Chassis, ive seen alot of Crotch Rocket engines in those, so maybe itll work good with a sled engine too?????

 

Banshee since it was designed for a twin already.

 

isnt the banshee chassis pretty weak?

 

Anyone ever done this on the forums I think a scrammy chassie would work if it would hold up. It might not fit though??? Is there a site that shows some snomo engines in quads???

 

Adrenaline Powersports in Sacramento (916-729-RIDE) is a Polaris dealer but their first love is Banshee hop-ups. They have a totally tricked out Polaris 900 or somthing in a chassis that started life as a Banshee but you would have a hard time recognizing the Banshee connection due to all the mods. They regularly run at Sand Mountain, Nev, and they are nearly unbeatable. They love to talk about the Polaris/Shee so give them a call.

I buddy of mine has a polaris 750 snowmoblie motor in a polaris 500 scrammy frame. The conversion was done buy Bert's Dirt Works out of Houston Texas.

 

Ced on here did a Polaris with a Rotax engine, Also check Az Bad Boys, theres a scrammy on ther with a 700 rmk on it.
What ever you decide to put it on is gonna have to be cut and re-fabed, those engnes are big.
