bayou dies at full throttle
I've got a 2000 Kawi bayou 220, my problem is when you hit the throttle to 3/4 to full it dies instantly, maybe one stumble and that's it. It doesnt matter what temp it is it does it anytime. revs fine if you peg it slowly, doesn't even matter what gear. New oil and filter and clean air filter, gets good spark, runs great other than that. Any ideas?

First thing I would try is start up your bike and spray choke/carb cleaner in your air box (with the air cleaner off)while it is running. Don't have the choke on. It will try to die, but it should burn it out. Don't spray the whole can in there. But bog it down 3 or 4 times. If that doesn't work, check the jets in your carb.....you can call your kawi shop and they can tell you what the stock jets are supposed to be. Sounds like a fuel/air problem to me. May need diff jetting.

it sounds like the carb could be dirty,if ya let it sit an the gas got stale it could plug up the jets an small orifices. If ya changed the exhaust system to flow more, you will have to richen it up for more fuel.Riding thru mud dirt ,etc water coulda found its way into the carb 2.take it apart an clean it all out w carb cleaner an blow it all out w compressed air an put it back.Or ya could change the fuel an see if that works.

It does have an exhaust off a three wheeler(not my doing, the guy I bought it from). He also suggested that I clean the carb bcause it was sittin for a while when he had it apart puttin new clutches in it. I'll try the carb cleaner first, then if that dont work I'll clean the whole carb, thanks for the input
