350X motor into TRX250X

Has anyone done this swap? Am I just looking at motor mount changes or are there unseen problems with this swap?

my dad has a 87250x with a 86350x motor in it. he did it back in 87 when i was only 3 so i'm not sure how he did it.

i know you have to notch the frame for the head to fit into the bike. i think you have to turn the carb to the side a little bit for the cable to work ok.
where did you find the motor? i am looking for one!

You will also need to get a custom head pipe cause the stock 250x pipe is too short. or i have seen people weld on an extension to the stock 250x pipe. You will also have to mount an oil cooler for the 350x motor..

The contact is powroll racing they make a conversion kit that comes with a pipe. you can also use a 350X swing arm and shock, but you must add spacers to the swing arm to pivit point. There web site is Http:\\www.powroll.com .

Why dont you put the motor in a 250r chassis instead of the 250x. The chassis for the 250x is not high preformance like the R. Cant get long travel suspension or anything. I just know if I were doing it, it would be better to go with the R.

you should check e-bay for a engine i see them there a lot. take your time and do every thing right and you will be happy later.

I have a 91 250x with an 86 350x engine in it, it makes the bike have more torque, but I am not really that impressed, it will out run 300ex's other 250x's and mojaves, thinks of that sort, but I believe a 400ex would take it all around, if you got money and time and are bored then go for it, think about your oil cooler though, its a b1tch trust me, later

This is a great conversion. The 350X motor can be punched out to a 460 kit for under $1000. Also, for long travel suspension, put the 400EX front end on it (400EX a-arms and shocks). That works great and is cheaper than you might think.
