There are a bunch of these conversions around. You will no doubt need to beef up the frame quite a bit. It should be the fastest thing on 4 wheels.

If it were me, I'd think about selling the motor and 400ex and buying a DS650. You can pick them up in the low $3000 range. They come with a stout 650 and are built extremely tough from the factory. They will take a raptor but yfzs with light mods are tough contenders. I'm not saying that it doesn't sound like a good project, just that there is an excellent comparable factory unit that could be had for similar costs and far less hassles. the DS also has more travel and dimensions more suited for dune running. The EX would need a longer swingarm and that's alot of $$$. The earlier DS's had a long factory swingarm.

XR, you remember seeing my wife on her Black R at sandfest? I should have her new 350 alky motor together soon and she might want to see some action in Louisiana.

Don't recall the black R, sounds like it should take care of business.

Dont worry, we've had our eye on your bike for a year or so. That was a strong runner before, I definitely cant wait to see it run now!
