I talked to Lonn at Thunder products and he stated that the K&N and the UNI filter have the exact same flow. He has a flow bench and he says he uses all unifilters because with K&N your paying for all their advertising.

 

I agree. you cant read a magazine with out seeing 10 advertisements for them. On my old LT, i had a uni and switched to a K&N and i notice no differnce, didnt efect jeting at all. so i sticked with the uni because i felt more secure with all that protecting my motor from dirt.

 

i use a UNI, and i run with no lid so i def need the best protection.

 

I've also used both, and they are both wayyyy better than stock, however for where I rode, I liked the uni a lil better.


You do know that eventually the gas is going to eat away the foam and little foam particles will end up in your cylinder.

 

yes i do.i replace every two years . those micro particles wont hurt anything any way.also the gas breaks down the glue holding rubber to the filter itself.i also run an open airbox with an outerware,only once did i have a problem hatfield mccoy rainy sob almost fouled a plug. my jetting must be good never fouled a plug in the r ..

just another point less post.... but if in dusty conditions i would get a foam, for cleaner conditons, K&N....oh, foam is like 35$ cheeper too!
