what is the stock carb size on a 230? On my lakota i went from a 32 to 36mm and it made it a top end monster with just a little bit on the bottom end. Isnt that what it will do to the 230 if you go to a 32?

i'd say that's probably a pretty good comparison, Newduck.

My dad picked up an 87 quadsport. Have you guys done anything with the front end? Can the A-arms be replaced with wider ones from the quadracer or quadzila? we need to replace the front ball joints any idea on where to get some and are there any aftermarket ones that are available?

you can get extended a-arms form ATV Racing ( www.atvracing1.com ) or HSD Racing.

i stopped by the shop tonite to see how the rebuild was going and got the lowdown on the larger 32mm carb.
if you're gonna do it, it takes a larger intake boot. total price @125 + shipping. he deals direct w/ Sudco and you won't find a better price.
downside is, the new, larger intake is quite a bit bigger than the stock port so if you don't do any portwork, you won't see nearly as much gain as you could.

sidenote:
i ordered my Works shocks w/ rezzies. takes 3-4n wks for delivery. add 20 lbs and one aggressive riding level higher 'cause they valve them soft.

Malhombre:
Just wondering if you could email me a list of the mods you have done to your machine along with a few more pics, my 230 project is kinda based of what your looks like and sounds like you have done to it. So any info would be good!
Cheers

Malhombre,
When you took off your aixbox, and used jsut a uni pod filter, what did you do with that little rubber hose that comes out the top corner of the airbox and then splices into another air line(it think haven;t dug around to much), looks like it's jsut there to relieve pressure or something like that, but if you could help me out with that, that would be wicked, The quad is coming along nicely, ordered the last few parts i needed, jets, gearing(13-39), fuel lines, pod filter, and a few other small things. And hopefully i can get to bending up some tube to make my nerf bars!

Also got a question about that stock a-arms on these machines, most of you guys that have done work on these quads i assume have replaced the a-arm bushings. What are some of the kits you guys are using , i have seen the one from vince cycle, and also the piviot works one, and of course the stock bushings. But are there any other options doing it. I was thinking of finding the right size poly flanged bushing on my own but jsut wanted to see what everyone else is doing!! SOme of those piviot kits are upwards of $100, so any other options may be condsidered.
