How much more power will i have from my 230S with a DG Excellerator system, a K&N filter, and a jet kit? Also what do I need to beat a 300EX? Thanx.

you'll need to get your intake port reworked, multi-angle valve grind, and a Webcam.

punch the cylinder out to .80 over and you can dragrace Rappy Jr's w/ confidence!

you better get the Works shocks w/ rezzies if you want to keep up in the woods.

Hopefully i'll get the shocks by March (my b-day). I'm a little tight on cash right now so i'm gonna save the porting for later, but i think i may get my hands on with the web cams soon. By the way, what size carb would you suggest i put on my 230S? Right now i have the stock one on.

i am also wondering this because i have a 270 piston for my 230 and i would like a little bit bigger carb on it.

unless you get the port work done, don't bother w/ a larger carb. the intake port has to be reworked due to the lower side be sorta flat, creating bad turbulance and poor airflow. a larger carb will only enhance the problem w/ more air/fuel mix rushing in than it can handle.
my motor's getting totally rebuilt from the crank up. .80 over weisco piston, head ported, decked cylinder to raise comp. a little (11:1) so i can still run premium pump gas, stage 1 webcam and a multi-angle valve grind and i'm still gonna run my stock carb w/ a UNI pod clamp-on filter.
i'm going for an all around trailblazer and i think it's gonna turn out pretty nice. i'm going w/ works shocks w/ rezzies on the front end.

well, after talking to my builder, we're gonna go w/ a round-slide 32mm mikuni. he wanted to go w/ a flat-slide but there's not enough room to mount it. i asked if i was gonna sacrifice any bottom end resonse.
he laffed and said "you'll be able to holeshot 400ex's!"

i don't know offhand where he's getting the carb. i'll ask him next time i talk to him.
i'm also getting a different intake boot too.
price w/ new boot is<150

keep in mind you'll probably lose bottom end reponse unless you do some port work.

Vince's Cycles also carries an aftermarket carb but i don't know how big it is.
