Aftermarket Shocks!
#1
Hiya folks,
I am looking for some aftermarket shocks for my banshee. Actually I am adding +2w +1 Lonestar A-Arms and front and rear shocks. I've narrowed it down to Works new pro Series Piggy backs up front with Compression, Rebound, and Preload adjustment, and Works Pro Series rear with the same. The cost is around $1800-1900. I am also considering Custom Axis Compression and Preload Adjustable fronts, and Compression, Rebound, and Preload adjustable rears. The cost of them is also around $1800-$1900.
On one hand the new Work's shocks are cleaner looking and offer rebound adjustment on the fronts. On the other hand Custom Axis has a strong reputation, but lacks some of the frills of the new high end Work's jobbers.
I'm not considering Ohlin or PEP's. For those of you who didn't know, All PEP Zero Preload Shocks are really Just Works AT Steeler shocks with their name and patented preload system. They're more of a gimmick than anything else.
So what do ya'll think? All suggestions are welcome.

I notice you didn't mention TCS as a possible option. They use works bodies (only) but are built by TCS to your specifications and riding style. They also have cans with 20 click adjustment. CTRacing can rebuild your stock rear body to stock specs or can upgrade it assuming the body is in good shape. I've had my TCS's for about 1 1/2 years & am very satisfied with them. Others will tell you that they are as good or better than the others you mention

You are totally offbase on your statement about PEP's. They and TCS use Works bodies only. I have TCS's on my R and had Works on my LT250R. The Works shocks are great for trail riding and 10 times better than stock. If your serious about racing, go with TCS, PEP or Axis you won't be sorry.

LT250R_86 is right. TCS and PEP only use Works bodies. The setups are completely different. I've got TCS on my 250R and love them. They are the exact same setup as Axis but with less adjustments. Forget Works, go with TCS, Axis, or PEP. Watch Huevos Grandes and look at what kind of shocks the pros run, PEP, PEP, and PEP.
