I just put alcohol on a ported Banshee. How will I know when I have the jetting right. Can you read the plug like you would with a regular gas burner.Feels like it runs better, but I want to know it's right.Thank you for any help you can give me.What spark plugs do ya,ll run,and how how much gap.

First make sure you have some engine heat built up. Jet it rich enough so it wont clear out on the top end when you try to make a pass. That will let you know to start coming down a little at a time. A good burning spark plug will show clean with a wet look because the electrode is much cooler than with gas. A darker plug will indicate that the alcohol is burning away and leaving the oil residue to color the plug. Run a B9EG or a B9EGV plug gapped at .018.
If there is any doubt jet it up. A meltdown will occur in a matter of a few seconds if it's too lean.

We'll just had the banshee out this weekend at an atv park.I was running paddles. It run ok,but it wouldn't pull very hard in 6th gear.Opened up the power jets(dial a jets) to make sure it wasn't to lean, and it fell on it's face.Jetted it down one step, and changed the gearing.Boy did it make a difference. Was launching in second with no real problems, every once in a while I'd hit third and it would pull the front end high enough I'd have to get out of it.WOW!I think we're headed in the right direction.
