Default 40mm Flatide Carb for SP 600

Is it worth it?? I was wanting to get that a mikuni jet kit, k&N air filter, SP 800 snorkel, and some 26 in muslites with some 1.5 in spring risers. Sound good or am i wasting my money?? Thanks.

You will notice a big difference with a bigger carb,K&N filter, & a 800 snorkel. Thats about the same setup as I got. I have a 40mm Mikuni from a 500HO,K&N filter, and curently don't have a snorkle. I plan on ordering the 800 snorkle soon. I aslo have some 26" mudlites and they are great.

I would get the K&n to it would help it flow more air. I'm not for sure how much HP I gain but it was a big difference from the stock carb.

how much would a 40mm Mikuni run...and how hard/long to install?... does it make it a gas guzzler...?

I got mine on ebay for $60.00 it came off an 01 500HO but any year HO should work. Installing it isn't to bad getting it jet I guess was the worst part. You will have to do three things to get it to work. First you have to redrill the carb bracket just 2 hole real easy. Next the choke cable has different threads were it screws in to the carb so you will need to go to the dealer and buy one of these # 25. Then where the throttle cable screws in it goes in to far and will not let the throttle open up easy fix take a small nut and use for a spacer so it doesn't screw in as far. You can use the factory boots that go over the carb just use a little soap to get them to go on. The next time you put the boots on it will be easier because the will streach some. As far as it useing more gas it will. Mine has always like gas but just a little more now. The old saying is if you want to play you got to pay .
