Default new to the forum and have a question

hey guys, im new to this forum and wanted to first say hi to u all. Second, i have an 87 quadsport frame with my 96 ktm 300cc motor in it, and i bought a banshee radiator for it because i didnt want to mount 2 radiators on the side. the question is when mounting the radiator is it ok to have it mounted on a slant? i have it mounted with the way that the frame flows. i have pics of it so if anyone that could answer this for me has questions and wants to see the pics i will email them to u. thanks alot

Welcome to the forum

Problem I see, is not having the right amount of fluid in the radiator and getting it to flow properly, through the grill for proper cooling.

Welcome to the forum dkid, As long as it fills with coolant and you can get enough air flow thru it. I would think it would work. I have seen radiators mounted in all sorts of positions in desert buggies/trucks.

well yesterday i started it after getting it mounted and it was dripping out of the over flow tube and it was flowing into the overflow container. i started to see the coolant turn into a vapor and come out the breather/overfill outlet on the container, is that normal? i have always had 4 stroke quads and my bike that i took the motor out of didnt have a fill container. i just dont want to smoke my motor. and one more thing...how do u post pics? if i knew how i would show it to u guys. thanks alot

yea i know there mounted on a slant but i think that its to much, if u can find a pic of an 87 quadsport and look at the front plastic, i have the radiator mounted on the same angle as the frame/plastic, thanks

Welcome to the forum!

Make sure that you can purge the air out of the system, maybe using some bleeders or something like that. You can have a air lock and the coolant won't flow properly.

i see what you are saying
be sure the fins are pointing forward and are vertical

do you plan to have it beneath the plastic,,,,,or above??

if below,,,,you may need to make some air shrouds to help channel the air thru the fins if it doesn't keep up

trial and error i guess
